Important stuff to keep in mind .... FOREVER!
draw big and soflty enought to fully cover an A4 paper size. Draw softly since you will be erasing a lot if you draw hard you will fuck up the paper and it will be hard to see where the hell lines and outlines are .... really, draw big and softly
use blank paper and use a pencil sharpener or get a mechanical pencil.
do not erase the structure until you have done everything else! (yes, even the eyelashes or any fold)
Develop a hard self criticism from the very first day you start drawing. It is the way to imporvement .... "i suck at drawing Y_Y" it is not self criticism ..... "the colors dont have enough contrast beteween each other" it is a good start ...
Most of us have a favorite anime or manga, use this as reference. I used SailorMoon and Magic Knight Rayearth as reference, i learnt almost everything by studing those mangas and illustration books ^-^
